Framing

The bridge in this picture frames two sides of the picture and the tree and ground frame the others. This makes the viewer focus and bring attention to what is going on in the middle of the picture. It is used to draw interest it the photograph.

Balance

This photo has a good balance of shapes and colors. The bulldozer gives an interesting shape and the contrast of shapes also gives interest to this picture. The photo makes sense and has a full story behind it.

Lines

This photo has good line that are interesting to the eye. Although there are only a few main bold lines; there are many small lines on each building. There are vertical and horizontal lines which is interesting to the viewer.

Rule of thirds

This photo shows the rule of thirds because not everything is in the middle of the photo. There are interesting things happening to the left and to the right. The eye is attracted to somewhere other than the middle.

Simplicity

This picture shows simplicity because the only thing the photo is the words, so the viewers eyes are automatically drawn to what IS happening. It tells that viewer that the thing in the picture is important.

Unusual photo part 3

  1. A) A good skill to have as a photographer is to look at things from different angles to get the best shot. Do not let an awkward angle deter you from your inspiration. Take the shot even if you have to look straight up                                                                                                                                                                                                           B) We should take photos of things that have meaning to us.                                                                                                                                                      C) Make the ordinary seem extraordinary
  2. (At bottom)
  3. (At botom)
  4. No the photographer didn't completely use everything from it.
  5. I think the juxtaposition would inspire me the most.

Unusual photo part.2

  1.  I picked this photo because i like her eyes and its just a beautiful picture.
  2. I found it in Local Portrait and Personality
  3. It won 1st place!
  4. The photographer made sure that there was a contrast in her eyes, lips and skin and made it up close and clear.
  5. I think the subject could be whatever as long as the contestant made it interesting and captures the audience.
  6. I think the photographer had to do research and get the right lighting in the photo in order to make it work.

  1. I thought this picture is beautiful and patriotic.
  2. News Portrait and Personality
  3. It won second place.
  4. The photographer used the lighting in the back to create an effect.
  5. I don't think the subject had that much to do with it. They were just looking to make anything interesting to the audience.
  6. The photographer had to get close to this public figure and make the effort to get the shot.
  1. I thought this photo was interesting and unique.
  2. Photojournalist of the Year (smaller markets)
  3. It won first place!!
  4. The photographer lined the face of the reader up with the book cover to create an effect.
  5. I think the subject has less of an effect. I think its more of what the photographer does with the subject.
  6. This photographer lined the little boys face up with the cover of the book to create exactness.

Unusual pictures part. 1

  1. I really like this style of photography. Its kind of trippy and dark.
  2. I think that he took multiple pictures of the same item at different angles.
  3. I would be cool to do with the capital, and it would've been cool to do with the twin towers before 9/11.

Photo manipulation and ethics

This Article is about how excessively photoshopping pictures is not a good idea. This photographer took pictures and edited them with "Adobe Flash" and basically copied and pasted the photograph. When you take your pictures to a big time magazine, newspaper exc. company they will get mad if you edit them. People shouldn't edit their pictures too much because it should be real and fresh instead of just artificial.

I really believe that this is sending a message to all women that they shouldn't be okay with their own body and it is just disgusting.

I really don't think that its the end of the world that they made her teeth strait. It still looks realistic and its not like they made them crazy white or anything.

National Geographic

2.   I really like this picture because it almost looks like a pattern.  Its astounding  to see THAT many birds in one place. I also really like black and white, even though this photo is in color it looks black and white because there is not landscape in the photo.

3.   I would take a picture of a kitten :)

Touching people

1. I thought it was very interesting that strangers would be okay with doing this. The concept is very riveting.

2.  I probably wouldn't do it unless the explained the reasoning, I'm not really into a lot of people touching me in general so I wouldn't be very opened to it.

3. I think it would be really cool  to go and take pictures with cats and dogs you see on the streets :)

4. I think the actual phography is good (not talking about the content). The photos look a little awkward but I kind of like it.
